I'm one of three finalists for this head coaching job. I feel very fortunate. Still the hardest part is the waiting game. If this happens it will be one of the single biggest undertakings in my life.

I'm interviewing for a couple of head coaching interviews for the first time in my career. Honestly I haven't been that nervous going in, because I have some control over the situation. It's the waiting now. Although I should be finding out in the next few days whats going to happen and whether or not I'm finalist, it's killing sitting here with no power over the situation. I'm definitely happy just to have the opportunity. I've came a long way in a short time, hopefully it keeps moving at this pace. Well see...

is to talk football (hopefully). Let me preface this by saying that although the name of the site implies that I have a pass happy philosophy, nothing could be further from the truth. You definitely have to be capable of throwing the ball as well as running it. Here's an excerpt from my revised offensive playbook regarding my offensive philosophy:
I. Adaptable A. Utilize the abilities and skills of the individual players. B. Present the players with the opportunity to play out of a flexible system that emphasizes their individual strengths. C. Develop individual roles that minimize weaknesses and maximize strengths.
II. Multiple A. Employ a maximum number of personnel groups, formations, motions, and shifts. B. Control defensive numbers in the, “box,” to exploit defensive weaknesses. C. Create good angles, match ups, and blocking angles.
III. Simple A. Use a minimum number of schemes and concepts to attain a high level of execution. B. Eliminate negative plays. C. Employ a user friendly system of terminology that is clear and concise.
IV. Balanced A. Keep the defense off balance. B. Distribute the ball equally among receivers and runners. C. Avoid predictability.
V. Aggressive A. Attack the entire field, horizontally and vertically. B. Be physical. C. Expect to score each possession.
VI. Focused A. Score more points; WIN! B. Take care of the ball; no turnovers. C. Eliminate penalties and mental mistakes. D. Establish and maintain field position. E. Make explosive plays (+12 yards). F. Efficient in the Red Zone; 100%. In my opinion at least, there's more to offense than just throwing the ball all over the field. I'll get into more specifics of my system later.

It might be cliche', but the Dallas Cowboys are firm proof of why teams shouldn't read their press clippings. Three weeks ago it was full speed ahead to the Super Bowl, now it's going to be a wonder if they even win a playoff game. This team has stunk it up for about the past four games now. Wins against the Giants and Falcons were lackluster at best, by they were still wins. The losses against the Saints and the Eagles prove that games aren't won and lost on paper.

Those of you that are regulars will notice the remodeling job that's taken place. The site is still a work in progress, but I'll be getting my playbook up on here soon. I know this is why most of you visit here, so I'll make sure to get that up as soon as possible.
